How We Decide Who to Support

One of the hardest parts of running a small foundation is this.

We cannot help everyone.

Every application matters.
Every situation is real.

But we have to make decisions.

At the Mark Hewitson Foundation, those decisions are made carefully.

Together.

We look at urgency, essential need, risk and impact.

We prioritise where there is immediate pressure and where support will make a direct difference.

We also look at what is being requested.

Is it essential.
Will it help.
Is it the right type of support.

There is always a balance.

Compassion and responsibility.

And sometimes, that means saying no.

That is the part people do not see.

Every decision is made with care.

With the intention of doing the right thing.

There is no perfect system.

But there is always thought behind every outcome.
